His neighbors would say he was quite mad.
But who's to say who's strange or not,
The answer here is still to be sought.
In the beginning Jason was fine,
He was a happy lad walked a fine line.
Joyous and free if a little bit wild,
Jason Newbe was the perfect child.
He cared for his father and loved his mum,
He would rise in joy before the day had begun.
The sun was his nourishment the moon was his drink,
Through eve and afternoon he would always slink.
He walked over the hills and skipped through the moors,
He could hardly ever be found inside of doors.
He was a free spirit the freest of free,
Jason was content to live and just be.
Though they all said he was a fine young man,
His neighbors never understood how his mind ran.
True he was caring gentle and true,
But those who understood he were quite few.
No one could see that he was tormented yet pure,
Because for his state of mind there was no cure.
His free spirit was singular and one of a kind,
Angels and demons danced in his mind.
Up in the trees he could see fairies dance,
He caught sunshine and rainbows not by chance.
His eyes saw the diamonds in the night's sky,
His songs accompanied the larks as they fly.
Celestial thunder was in Jason's heart,
Understanding the world was his own art.
The birds and the beasts understood this young lad,
With this friends around how could Jason be sad?
The neighbors might talk and call him strange,
But in the end Jason Newbe would bring about change.
Who said he had to be just like the rest,
When he was himself he was at his best.
Jason Newbe was a strange lad,
But his heart was good and his mind was glad.
He was his own person through and through,
Jason Newbe was and so are you.
