Warrior Queen

My dear dark Warrior Queen,
You are not of this world.
Though you were born where men have been,
Your eyes are full of unearthed magic that swirled.

You were born into a world at war,
Beyond battle and blood you wanted a change.
But from yourself you demanded more,
And to the world all non-battle was strange.

Fighting is all this poor world knows,
So to this lifestyle you pledged yourself.
With the sword and spear blood always flows,
All love and hope was put on a shelf.

Dark Warrior Queen what is your life?
You wish for so much more than all you know.
There's so much more than fighting and strife,
But the battle is called and the fires glow.

You're skilled with the sword as your father taught,
And the darkness of fighting is your familiar friend.
Many an enemy you've known and fought,
You'd stay in any conflict to the bitter end.

Warrior Queen look behind your eyes,
Hope has not died though the battle is nigh.
You know the way for you are wise,
You've seen the smoke rise and the waves grow high.

Warrior Queen hear the battle comes,
The clash of fighting strikes a strange chord.
The wind is whipping and there's thunder from the drums,
My dark Warrior Queen will you put up your sword?

Or will you finally see a world at peace,
Consider the dove as it soars and flies.
You have the chance to end the bloodshed make it cease,
Warrior Queen look to the skies.

Peaches and Oranges

Peaches and oranges fresh for sale,
Ripe from the trees sit in a pail.
Golden-skinned and sun-kissed to a tan,
Picked and packed before the day began.

Grown from children with tender care,
They grew to be ripe, strong, beautiful and fair.
Sweet to the taste and soft as best creams,
Yet the one who tended them is not what she seems.

Tended and cared for by Rosita, my dear,
Look at her closely you'll have something to fear.
Though she is beauteous and peacefully still,
Behind her dark eyes hides a strong kind of will.

Within her days she's seen the whole world,
She's watched as humanity buckled and curled.
Watched brave men wither and die on the vine,
Her eyes with these memories sometimes shine.

Oh, what a past Rosita has had,
A quiet and happy one but tinged with sad.
Torn by heartache that none of us know,
The very thought of it would bring your spirit low.

Loving care is all she has now to give,
But with it she's helping others learn to live.
Breaking heart or mended true,
She's helped me and can help you.

Peaches and oranges fresh for sale,
If you sit close you might hear the tale.
Of a girl named Rosita with a terrible past,
But now she's caring, peaceful at last.

Freedom Dream

Look up look up into the sky,
Watch the flag dance watch it fly.
Red and white, blue forever,
Standing through cold wind and weather.

A sign long looked for throughout the years,
A symbol of hope that dampens all fears.
High it flies with colors bold,
Its history so great it must be told.

This flag of ours from years ago,
Stands for so much you hardly know.
It stands in the field when all is done,
It continues to wave when the battle is won.

Crimson red a memory of war,
A tribute to the soldiers that it stands for.
On the fields they fought and they bled,
So all others could remain safe instead.

White triumphant glory to come,
Always standing when all is done.
Crystal bright the hope we hold,
Always remember the brave and the bold.

Deep like the sea and twice as still,
The blue always remains upon the hill.
Carried by soldiers and freedom fighters alike,
Who dreamed of freedom and were willing to strike.

A banner of freedom hope and home,
Americans will never far from it roam.
Forever uniting this country into one,
We stand together under the sun.

Our flag in hand and love in our heart,
We'll stand together never apart.
On this ground we'll take a stand,
To protect each other and our land.

Freedom is priceless so very dear,
All who come will find it here.
Forever the land of the free and the brave,
Together we're one let freedom wave.
