First Frost

Silver and cold shimmering white,
Tiny snowflakes fly away on their flight.
Chilly air swirls the late fallen leaves,
Crystal clear icicles form on the eaves.

Breath appears in the frost-blue sky,
Autumn's colors wave me good-bye.
White as linen a thin cold sheet,
Luminous snowflakes fall at my feet.

Transparent beauty cold as ice,
Frost dances its way over the edelweiss.
Covering the countryside swift and sure,
A white glaze creeps across the moor.

Never say forever the snow preserves,
Faith and love in time deserved.
Cold like the snow fallen first here,
Bid farewell to the love I hold most dear.

Polar has come the frost covers all,
Forget the summer and the fall.
Chill and cold the weather's turned,
Warmth to seek the peat to burn.

Snow covers all silver scape,
Over the hills the ice does drape.
White wonderland swiftly sprung,
Hitherto winter has begun.
