The mother deer is weeping for her fawn,
Murdered upon the pavement.
Struck by a car yesterday because,
The driver figured it was no great loss.
Sprawled on the side of the road,
In a beautiful forever repose.
Life was short,
But I've a hunch, worthwhile.
